About Kenai Housing Relief

The City of Kenai has partnered with the Alaska Housing Finance Corporation (AHFC) to provide rent and mortgage relief for Kenai residents who have suffered economic hardship due to COVID-19.

Applications are being accepted until November 30th at 5pm Alaska time.

The Kenai Housing Relief program will provide up to $1,200 each month to eligible households in the City of Kenai. Applications received before November 1, 2020 could be eligible for up to four months of assistance, September through December, depending on their income loss. Applications received on or after November 1, 2020 could qualify for up to two months of assistance, covering November and December. Applicants must reside within Kenai city limits, and household income at the time of application must be at or below $71,760 (80% of the median income).

Residents can apply by completing a questionnaire and certifying their loss of income was caused by COVID-19. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until housing relief funds have been exhausted — applications will be processed in the order in which they were received.

Recipients will be asked for additional details to verify their loss of income and so payment can appropriately be routed to their lender or landlord.
